Open for business before the days of Wal-Mart and Target, this family owned and operated business has attempted to continually stay in front of the shifting trends in the retail accessory market. For those of you who in the past have visited our different showrooms in Downtown Daytona Beach, in Volusia Square between Home Depot and Toys R Us, at the Trails Shopping Center, or in Palm Coast, you would be quite familiar with the many accessories we offered for your homes. The reason this is so important in today’s environment, is the invaluable knowledge and understanding we have gained in understanding quality, pricing and placement of these very same accessory items for your home, much of which we have access to today.
However, the focus of Home Designs from its inception has been on Custom Window Treatments, and the fabrication of all the draperies, valances, etc. in our own showroom, vs. having draperies made in an outside factory. This has provided the client with the very best window treatments to fit their individual needs, whether it was for pinch pleated sheers and/or draperies, valances, custom bedding, upholstery, slip covers, Hunter Douglas or Graber Blinds, and much more.
Presently Home Designs is owned and operated by Rita Pender, originally an ASID affiliated designer in Westchester County, New York, and a Daytona Beach resident for 35 years.
As the economy has faltered, and the housing market has declined, Home Designs still stands ready to serve you for all of your custom needs. The myriad of fabric and blind samples once displayed in our showrooms are now located at the home of Rita. The workshop, which for so many years has fabricated some of the finest window treatments in this area, has been relocated into the home of our seamstress. All of the finest craftsman that have served the Home Designs clients for these many years are still the same, assuring you the same top quality work that our clients have come to expect.
